I love the artistry and craftsmanship here but think that by putting this border around your work you are cheapening it. It does not blend well with the subject matter or material and only serves as a distraction from your fantastic work.

Apologies, I thought that you had taken a photo of the stencil, and then taken another photo, layering the two together. I know realise you have just leant the stencil on something and then taken a single photo. In this case, you should definitely crop the shot to remove the background clutter, as it does distract and definitely decreases the professionality of the piece.
