"OHHH-HO-HO-HO~! ZARBON, DODORIA, LOOK AT THE PRETTY FIREWORKS!"So yeah I've grown a HUGE appreciation for Freeza over the last couple years. I've always been a big Dragon Ball fan of course, but Freeza wasn't really my favorite villain. I'm not sure I'd see he's my absolute favorite now, but he's become -way- up there recently. His new, more accurate interpretation in Kai I am totally enamored with, thanks to Christopher Ayres' incredible performance as him. In fact, Kai has made the big Goku vs. Freeza fight go from what was one of the most irritating parts of the show to me, to what is now one of the BEST parts of the show to me. Can't wait to get the uncut release for X-mas soon.

I stopped watching Kai after the first few episodes of the Androids Saga, but the Saiyan and Frieza sagas were splendid and Chris Ayres as Frieza makes the perfect foil to Sean Schemmel as Goku.

When I first saw Freeza when I was seven or eight, I thought he was a girl! XD The voice sounded like an old grandma voice to me.

I think it's because Christopher actually makes Frieza sound threatening. Don't get me wrong the old voice for Frieza wasn't terrible or anything but I really do love Ayres take on his voice (even though I don't understand why people call it the "Gay Frieza voice") and chilling elegy is a great theme for Frieza.
Glad to see another person who DOESN'T hate Kai. Excellent work Kirbopher!

Are you really "Kirbopher" from Newgrounds? Anyway, this art is gorgeous and the coloration as well. Freeza is one of my favourite characters in the entire series. Yes indeed, Christopher Ayres did a wonderful job on him. I agree. In my opinion; The more interesting saga was when Freeza appeared. The fight was intense to watch on planet namek. I enjoyed it a lot.

Dude, I've also had a random spasm of faving Frieza as one of the greatest villains of DBZ, especially since I found that song about him by Maximum of the Hormone 8DDDD

Nice job on the portrayal of the character. I think you did a great job on the background and accuracy.
Frieza wasn't my favorite character when I started watching the series, however he started to grow on me a bit more. I think that the voices he had over the years were really fitting and kickass. Even his new voice sounded very sinister and really devilish

Ah yes, back to the classics eh? Man, I haven't seen any of Kai. But if what you say is right, and Kai is 50 times better than the original, then I HAVE to see the fight SSJ Goku and Freeza.

I'd have to say the same thing about Freeza applies to me as well. At first, he wasn't really my most favourite of villains, but certainly wasn't my least favourite. Although I haven't watched the show in any form in years, it's been mostly the comics that made me appreciate the character a bit more. That, and Ryusei Nakao gave him that excellent portrayal that made me like him a bit more so.

I liked Freeza as a villain, but not as a character.
I dunno. Near the end of his battle with Goku he started recycling the same crap h spouted ten episodes earlier.
But yeah, Freeza was one of those villains that you could actually feel hopeless against.
