Sorry that it took me so long to get back to this.
What I mean is in Japanese culture to have the fold of the kimono or other like clothing go from the right to left signifies that you are dead.
Most commonly seen at wakes, or as a subtle use to suggest that the character is a ghost. Like in Yu yu hakusho.
The correct way to wear those clothing whether male or female is two fold over to the right.

In this picture, I kinda thought him as "the dragon" so in that case it would mean that he's neither alive or dead. He's something like a god or a god like spirit.
