A character theme is basically the thing you base the character on, like name/power/lusus/interests/etc. For instance, Sollux's theme is Gemini, which has connotations with duality (he has a bipolar disorder), and his very name references the main stars in the Gemini constellation (Pollux and Castor). Karkat's theme is Cancer, and so his lusus is a crab and he has a rather "crabby" disposition, his weapon is a crab-claw-shaped sickle, etc.

Thanks for pointing that out! I had originally used one array for lowbloods, one for highbloods, and one for seadwellers, so there was a 1:3 chance of getting a seadweller. If you take a moment to download the updated version, you'll see that I've fixed this oversight so now it's more common to get normal lowbloods and highbloods.
