You can get my attention with Science Fiction. And glowing stuff.
What struck me on second sight was the background. At first, I thought it just made a good texture for behind the foreground, but now you're trying to tell a little story.
Anyway, I like the fragile face hooked up in the machine parts. What kind of environment is this soldier in that he needs that protection? The monochrome shading with some amount of blue/green hue certainly makes it look dark.
Together with the illuminated number, the reflections make some nice pointers, or should I say an outline: one on the left, another one on top and one on the right. They are certainly the most well rendered parts in the image. Which is a shame. The dark lines seem sketchy.

I have no idea where you got this, but it jsut seems so terribly, terrible sad. He seems to have a child's face, let alone his nose.

christ! how do you *do* this??
the cool blue and grey color scheme is great... and the background reall sticks out for me. the texture of his face is amazing, too...

The coloring is magnificent. It really gives a cool, sickly look to the atmosphere. It's beautiful. I especially like the background. The tilted telephone pole looks dead. Empty and alone. I can't describe how vivid my emmotions are connected with this deviation. The shading and lighting are perfect. Just awe-inspiring. I feel drawn the deep expression of the soldier's face. His eyes. Hmnn... It's awsome. Truely something special. Keep it up.

Dangit man. I need to stop coming here. Getting tired of seeing people so much younger than me with so much talent. Keep up the good work. ...Actually...no, don't keep it up... Do bad. Do really bad. *gets out voodoo doll and inserts needle in its drawing hand* Bwahaha. *sigh* Eh, keep it up.

I really like this piece, espicially the mood that is set off with the cool tones, and use of texture.

Wow this is some interesting stuff. I'm a sucker for portraits and stuff like that. I'm especially fond of the colors - gives te piece a stormy, almost mournful feel. It's just how I see and feel it. Awesome work.
