I sadly didn't win XD....-----------------------------
f5 a few times if not showing, I enlarged the size.
I asked if I could draw her with cow looking manatee and got the okay..thank goodness cause I haven't a clue how to draw cows without crying (as you can I tried to draw a cow in the sketches, the legs look like chopsticks)
AND FLIPPIN HOPE it wasn't a misunderstanding...because this entry would end up void then -headdesk-
....I wish I asked sooner if sketches were okay to include as a background =c
But I originally intended to ink all of these sketches..but got scared with all the fancy drawings I've been seeing so tried my hand at a digitally painted background...........ran out of time. lol...I'm also bad at lighting...I hope it's not too dark.
I figured she'd live close to CowPea Village and with the darn green color in that area by a river..it made me think of a marsh like forest where she'd make her home...with a bunch of pond tunnels that connect where her sea cows would be.
Over all this is pretty much all my art styles XD
my hand cramped up so many times RIP
For the short comic, I didn't know what bagbean to draw with her, so just drew a blank with ducktape eyes? haha.

I really hope you'll be somehow able to get another Cow Bagbean or a Celestial Cow/Manatee one,
so you can still use all those wonderful ideas

There was SO much to this bagbean's design that reminded me of myself. Would have been so much fun to have her =c
fingers crossed a cow/manatee design will come out for me to try for, but with artists more talented then me...eeehhh, my spark is alittle dimmed for now haha.

Maybe you can try to get some money when you offer commission types like this as some kind of reference sheets
or BagBean HomeDesign commissions! You're really talented in this

I sadly have my reasons for not getting a custom or doing commissions, so for now those are a nope.
And asking griffsnuff for a custom trade just feel like it would be rude to her.

though the last time I lost the artist was more creative then me....vs better in abilities...so...

I've tracked DTA winners of bagbeans and looked at the kind of criteria they have, generally, and it's very inconsistent.
DTA #4 is the best example I think - so this piece
and this piece
were neck-and-neck. The first had lore/stories in the description (meaning it had a relevant narrative behind it) and has a lot of extra elements drawn into it. The second had no lore or stories, but had more technical competence in digital painting.
If I compare these to your situation, you're the first piece and the winner's piece would be the second (even though I think you have just as much if not more technical skill than the winner)
Guess what won? The first piece. To be fair, this one relied on a community vote, but you can see that the bagbean community in general doesn't really have consistent criteria for judging DTAs. *shrug* I think you deserved to win for a number of reasons, but my comment is getting long so I'll stop there XP

Glad people are liking that silly idea I had with her thief trappin tool hehe, was either that or a lasso, but in my version of her she doesn't really live on a conventional farm so wanted to go with a more nature like tool. OwO (also always love big mallet lookin weapons for characters.....;w; )

haha yeeahh, thought her hitting other beans with a mallet would be too much, and with their body shape this was the best approach vs harming them silly thieves.

Would be like that mini game where you have to protect the nest in the center of the screen from creatures try to steal eggs. but instead would be a milk stand catching thieving bagbeans XD
