KingZanderSanchez-i β€” Admirable Animation- How Bout Some Effort?

Description I know this kinda throws off my schedule, but--rest assured--Anime Appreciation Month is still in full swing; consider this my belated Singles Appreciation Day special (since there aren't enough Valentines specials to make a metaphorical Box of Chocolates or something like I did for Christmas). Even if I don't get to your request this month, it doesn't mean I'm never going to talk about it. This is just a way of getting out more anime reviews. As for videos, I'm currently in the process of finishing a few scripts and trying to practice my editing skills.

My YouTube Channel is located here (along with an editing test I've posted):Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbEqbW…

Episodes like these are why Teen Titans Go is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, don't get me wrong, I hate the critic whining episodes, the offensive ones, and most of the stupid ones. But some episodes can actually be pretty hilarious, like "Videogame Refrenences." But yeah, this is a mixed show for me.

Speaking purely on a critic level, TTG has always been a favorite whipping boy for me; nothing gets my blood boiling and pisses me off quite like TTG (especially since it has a special, signature awful that's pretty much trademarked, which always gives me material to work with). TTG is the type of series that fucks up in such an amazing way that you almost HAVE to say something about it, and in cases like this when they don't fuck up, it's amazing on a different level (though, as Sage puts it, when the bar is low enough to trip over, anything that manages to step over it is gonna look genius by comparison).

I love this episode. The Comedy is really good here,The best Jokes are Gizmo as a Baby! I know But they made it work. This episode also Shows Why Jinx is the Best Character in TTG,She so like and this episode shows it. But I think The reason I love the episode is that Cyborg is in character. Both this and 40% 40% 20% Show The CYBORG We love from the original show. For all of TTG,Cyborg has ben pertryed as Well A Token Black Guy,Its mostly Michael and Aaron's Fault because they think Since Cyborg is Black,They think he's funny. But Here Cyborg is not A Token. He's A lovable nice guy that Loves life. Thats the Cyborg we all love. I beat the people who wrote this and 40% 40% 20% Understand and get his character. Also The Song is amazing in this episode.

Exactly. I actually just recently rewatched this episode and it's still pretty good. It's kinda nice to see Cyborg actually LEARN something, and more often than not, focusing on one specific member rather than the whole group as they usually do tends to make episodes a lot better (or at least a lot less horrible). This is kinda one of those episodes that isn't really brought up too much either.

If the Titans were more in character, it would probably kill off over 80% of the series. Or make the TTG bad episodes very, very weird.

It's sorta funny how bad series can sometimes pull a really great idea out of their ass, or just find a way to NEVER make a bad episode when using certain elements: in Family Guy's case, it's doing a mystery like 12 and a Half Angry Men or And Then There Were Fewer, in Spongebob's case (I know it's not a bad show--anymore--but it really hit the wall hard and took a while to get back up) it's using the Flying Dutchman, and in TTG's case it seems to be developing Cyborg & Jinx's relationship.

I actually agree. The whole thing made me kinda crack a grin. The whole "pretending to be married" thing was pretty funny.

I noticed that episodes like Opposites Attract (or whatever it was called, I can't remember) and Operation Tin Man that focus on Cy & Jinx's relationship are far better than the stuff surrounding them. The whole series is like a jelly-filled asparagus- you chew through the disgusting part just for the hope that the next bite has something good (in between stomach pumpings, since jelly-filled asparagus is actually somehow worse than its name would imply).

Operation Tin Man was a good episode. Besides, you know, the dick ending.

Yeah, but you could say the same thing about "Kicking a Ball and Pretending to be Hurt" (which I kinda felt was like a reverse of the South Park episode The Losing Edge).

Well, it was bound to happen at some point: Cool Schol, 40%, 40%, 20%, Nean, they've managed to make at least one or two good episodes every now and then. When they finally get it right, then it's worth applauding.

Exactly, progress is progress. If giving them a gold star for tying their shoes within the first ten tries and not poking out an eye in the process helps them improve, then go right ahead. Might take a while, but at least it's happening. I haven't seen the episode with LaBraun James (which still seems like a bad idea in concept, since kids who don't know who LaBraun James is are just gonna say think "why's this guy so important?") but my expectations for things like this are already pretty low, so I won't be surprised if I end up finding an episode terrible enough to break my rule before I even get to doing more Family Guy.

i haven't seen it itself, but from what i have seen, it's this: it's a Scooby Doo "parody", that's why Raven is in Glasses and why they do have a celeb in the episode (even if kids don't know who he is) and, personally for me, Youtube spoiled the episode for me though ads. and i'm gonna spoil it too because it's TTG, who cares: Labraun is the ghost. man, it must suck for kids who get on youtube, don't have ad-block and see the ending before the episode.Β

I was expecting it to be stupid, but at least TTG can always manage to pull out a so stupid, it's funny kindof terrible. What I'm saying is I'll take something like Serious Business over Return of Slade any day.

Obviously; that's kinda like meeting the one person on Earth who actually thought Nick News was a good idea. Seriously, I don't think any child anywhere ever seriously goes channel surfing and says "Let's see...Kablam...Weekenders...Courage the Cowardly Dog...Lizzie McGuire...NICK NEWS! Hell yeah! I know I want to be bored out of my skull for an hour and a half about stuff I shouldn't care about instead of playing N64 or something."

Pyramid Scheme? I made an Ani-meh-tion card for it:Β sta.sh/0ugvcd81yb3 (P.S. I might make another one of these for Two-Parter, just a heads up).Β

the episode just hurts my brain. like...why cowboys and mummies? and why should a show that has that as a villain have something to due with actual Pyramid Scheming? just..why? oh~ and the "Two Parter" episode. just remembering that episode hurts worst than these episodes combined.Β

That's kinda why I'm on the fence about it; I don't hate it but it wouldn't rank high enough for an Admirable review unless I fudged the numbers.

i don't know, it fails as a homage to the Justice League, it has way to many potty jokes and it just ruins the celeb they got for the "main baddie" of the episode. and for a special just called "Two Parter", it's not that creative. than again, it is TTG, but still: No Excuses.

not to mention it fails at the end with the "joke" of ... cyborg (i think) pulling a Superman 2 (again, i think) moment by flying around the world to go back in time. the titans know and the joke is they fail each time to save the League, to the point they give up. some heroes.

The episode I think you mean is 40%, 40%, 20%, but yeah. The few times they actually pull out a good episode, they're usually pretty damn good (my favorites are Let's Get Serious--despite the fact everyone else seems to hate it--Cool School, and Nean just to name a few). I think, so far, we can see that the better episodes have Trigon (except Thanksgiving), Rose Wilson, or Cyborg and Jinx's relationship.
