Description I don't usually post traditional art but this was a little sketch in my new sketchbook

---

The devil cod is a large species of gadiform closely related to haddock, distinguished by its large teeth. Unlike other members of its family, it is a macropredator which terrorises the seas of the Atlantic. Typically, it swims across the bottom of the ocean, swimming relatively slowly to conserve energy, and using their impeccable manoeuvrability (granted to them as they possess 3 dorsal fins and 2 anal fins) to catch smaller prey. At around 140-180 cm and 48 kg, it is quite significantly large and able to hunt large prey, even its close relatives, Atlantic cod and haddock. Devil cod are fierce fighting fish when hooked, making them a highly sought-after game fish. While rarely eaten due to it being a bit rarer than Atlantic cod (nothing to do with fishing however), their flesh has a 'tender mouthfeel and is more voluminous than cod and quite softer', and sometimes is used as a substitute for cod in North America, especially in Seattle, sometimes used in a special sandwich made with mayo, cheese and its fillet.
