Description     The Scarletithe are a race of tyrannical, powerful, and advanced demons that reside and rule Umbra Macra; a world parallel to Earth inhabited by demon races of all kinds.  With the ability to harness and use the power of Umbra; a dark energy that flows through the veins of their world, the Scarletithe enforce their agenda of conquering all they can over the other demon races; destroying all who oppose them.  Their leader; the nefarious Arch-Demon, sought to expand their horizons to other worlds; using a new device that would potentially allow them interdimensional travel, known as the Unworlder Engine.  Impatient toward the arduous process of perfecting the Engine, the Arch-Demon commanded immediate use of the machine once it was operational.  Her underling scientists complied against their better judgement.

The Unworlder Engine had malfunctioned during the travel process.  Instead of allowing them simple travel to another world; the engine had overloaded and started tearing their world asunder in a bright flash; ripping, mashing, and colliding continents together.  Using her power, the Arch-Demon protected her legion and empire against this apocalypse.  After what felt like only a span of 10 minutes, it all ended.  Everything was quiet.  The Arch-Demon exhausted her power to hold her empire together.  Stumbling to the nearest window of her imperial palace, she looked outside to find things much different than what she had known.  Ruins of cities she had never seen before; the screams of beings she had never seen before.  Whatever just happened to her world....the demons weren't alone in their apocalypse.

Earth; the world the Engine chose....had been molded and broken down and changed just as Umbra Macra had.  Massive continental Earthquakes had broken up and mashed together the continents of Earth.   Cities destroyed.....the human population heavily culled.  But neither world had simply changed.  They had fused!  Demon architecture here, human architecture there...they had created a new world.  A World that would become known as: Desolearth, by all parties.

The Arch-Demon saw this as the perfect opportunity to strike while the iron was hot.  She swore to conquer this new world just as she did her own.  She sent her legion into the ruined streets of the nearby cities to further exterminate whatever other humans and other demon races were here.

But the other races, including humanity, wouldn't sit idly by.  A 10 year War had ensued between what became known as the Alleviators (the remnants of humanity and the other demon races) and the Scarletithe.  While the collective races were greater in number, the Scarletithe were more advanced and had access to Umbral Energy; which had destructive, decaying properties when used against non-Scarletithe beings. The Scarletithe were gaining the upper hand, but there was a revelation that would severely harm them, and ultimately cause their downfall...

Through the fusing of planets; a new element had been created as a byproduct: The Gleam.  This energy had the same effect on the Scarletithe that the Umbra had on non-Scarletithe.  It poisoned them; burned them.  It was deadly.  The Alleviators had found a weapon to turn the tide.  Both sides began work on projects to gain the upper hand:  The Alleviators were producing a weapon to end the war; a massive cannon known as the Phosblossom that utilized Gleaming energy.  The Scarletithe on the other hand, continued work into weapons of their own through something called "PROJECT ENDGAME". There were presumably two phases of PROJECT ENDGAME, but apparently only the first phase ever made it through.  The first phase was creation of a massive Umbral monster known as Zharvas.  The second phase presumably led to creation of Scarletithe Super Soldiers, but thus far no information has been found of this second phase aside from the fact that it had existed.

Zharvas had been unleashed unto Desolearth; a towering demonic creature that was meant to bring an end to the Alleviators and all surviving non-Scarletithe.  But before any serious damage could occur, the Alleviators struck back with the Phosblossom; firing off searing beams of light that locked right on to all their Umbral foes.  Scarletithe after Scarletithe were disintegrated by the cannon, Zharvas had fallen....the Arch-Demon and her palace; consumed by the light....and all in that instant....it was over.  The Scarletithe were vanquished.  The sheer force of the Phosblossom caused it to fall apart, but the need for the weapon was null and void.  Desolearth was saved.  What was left of it, at least....

After the War for Desolearth, the remaining races worked together to immediately start rebuilding a society for themselves.  Humanity and the other demon races would live together in harmony in their new broken world.  It was a chance to start anew for many.

Not long after the destruction of the Arch-Demon and her outpost, scavengers of all kinds would come and reap whatever they could find belonging to the Scarletithe.  Some would try and use it for evil, some would use it for good, and some would sell it for a pretty Zip*.  Once such duo of scavengers was Vince and Marcy; an Uruku couple who hoped to make some cash selling Scarletithe artifacts and tech.  What they didn't expect to find was a toddler among the wreckage.  A Scarletithe toddler....the last of his kind.  He crawled around with innocence in his eyes; unknowing of the horrors his kind had unleashed upon the world.  He was small and frightened.  How he managed to escape the Phosblossom was nothing short of incredible, but Vince and Marcy didn't feel right about leaving him there, even if he was a Scarletithe.  They took him into custody and sought to raise him alongside their own child.  And they named him: Needles.

Needles had grown into a fun loving, lax, carefree person, alongside his feisty step-brother and best friend Rabies. Through his life, he was subject to bias among the community of Kindlepit (the name of town they live in); many wanted him dead or imprisoned, but Vince and Marcy assured their neighbors that they could teach him good.  In his adult years, Needles maintained a carefree attitude and a sense of adventure despite the bias.  He was mature enough as a kid to understand the bigotry toward him and he became used to it.  He and Rabies became Scavengers/Treasure hunters just as their parents were; exploring the ruins of cities and the wilds for valuables.  Their parents taught them self defense and combat for when they ventured out into the wilds.  On one such adventure, Needles and Rabies had come across Thalassia; an officer of the Kindlepit Police force; unarmed and surrounded by a gang of marauders known as the Varanus Pyros; who were ready to go in for the kill.  Needles and Rabies decided to hop in and help fight them.  In the process, Needles found he could harness the Umbra, which scared the marauders off.

Despite helping her out, Thalassia arrested them; and brought them to the Police Department. They questioned Needles primarily, but were put off and surprised by his compliance and good attitude.  Police Chief Leon Caldwell was willing to let Needles and Rabies go, but asked Thalassia to act as something of a supervisor for Needles.  Being the loyal officer she is, Thal begrudgingly agreed to do so, but as she started hanging around more and more with Needles and Rabies, she started developing something of a liking toward the two, and made a deal with them that if she let them continue their scavenging, than they have to help her to take down the notorious robotics kingpin Albox.

The two agreed to the deal, and thus the adventures of Needles, Rabies, and Thalassia began, of battling villains, hunting for treasure, fighting monsters, and learning the secrets about the Scarletithe.  All while Needles learns more about his origins and how to handle his Umbral Powers!
