“You have thought this through, right Scootaloo?”

“Are you kidding?”

Scootaloo scoffed at her Aunt Holiday, almost offended that she’d ask such a question. She’d just been accepted into the Rebel Racers, an elite scooter racing troop, and she couldn’t be more thrilled to join. There was no doubt in her mind at all despite her aunt’s fretting.

“I’ve been preparing for this basically since I could walk! Before I even knew what the Rebel Racers were! They’re almost like the Wonderbolts but for scooters, I wouldn’t pass this up for anything!”

“Of course dear!”

Holiday forced a smile, trying to tread carefully so as not to squash her niece’s joy.

“It’s just that you’d be moving so far away. It’s a really big change you’d have to make.”

“Terramar’s gonna be awfully disappointed you can’t move in with him.”

Lofty cut right to the chase, saying what was on both her and Holiday’s minds. They’d both watched their niece make plans to move out of Equestria to live with her boyfriend and now she’d seemed to forget all of that once a new opportunity came her way.

Scootaloo shrugged.

“Yeah, but he’ll understand. I mean, he has to. I’ve been dreaming of something like this for years. He can come with me and we can still live together!”

“In Baltimare? That’s quite a long ways for him.”

“From what you told us about him I don’t think he’d want to do that. A real homebody, isn’t he?”

Both aunts knew this wasn’t such a great idea, especially not without talking to Terramar first. But Scootaloo was as confident as ever in her choice.

“Then he doesn’t have to move! We can go long distance. We’ll figure something out. Or maybe he’d like Baltimare, who knows. It’s right by the water.”

Her wings buzzing with excitement, she signed her name on the form without hesitation.

“Don’t worry, I’ll talk to him.”
