very cool man! I've done a ton of practice studies of this image as well even used it for a finished image. its like a modern day farnese hercules.

it's amazing the mass they're getting these days with GH and insulin. Each time I look at one of these guys I discover some new piece of anatomy that looks impossible on a human skeleton, but there it is. On Jay, I couldn't believe how the mid-thigh muscles tied in like that, that's why I drew this one.

cool drawing, anatomy seems on point but you could deepen your shadows a little bit and it would really add to the form (softer pencil 2B+).

No problem. I had a pro comic artist recommend doing this as practice and said they still do that as warm ups even after going pro (ryan ottley).

Hi Ryan,
That wouldn't surprise me. I imagine those guys are under the pump time wise, so they need to be crack shots on their anatomy; plus all the angles they have to render. I've heard it said before, especially in fine art circles, that once you can competently draw a human figure, you can do anything in art, and I think that's true. I used this study and a few others I've done to do my barbarian stuff. Check it out and tell me what you think. Cheers Kim.

for sure. It's hard to believe a human can do that, I mean, as I was doing the drawing, I could hardly believe all the bits and pieces in his physique - it took me some time and a lot of mistakes, and still, it goes on and on...

r u kidding, your stuff is great. If you can draw like that, you can do muscles! Then it's just a question of whether you want to.

I really don't like these men who sculpt their own bodies to the point of seeming like monsters or aberrations, but your drawing is just PERFECT! Really, it's identical! Will you color?

mb, depends whether I think it's worth the trouble. I did it mainly to improve my knowledge of anatomy for an up coming painting.

Ah okay, cool! Anatomy is difficult, mainly muscles.
