Description Sadly, Satoshi Kon - one of my favorite directors of Japanese animation, passed away this week. He shared his creativity and dreams until the very end. Thank you very much.

I think this was one of my favorite movies he did, as well as one of my favorite movies in general.

When I first read his letter I cried and had to go watch this movie once more.

I just read the final letter he wrote and it made me cry - he regrets so many things that he didn't do, but doesn't see that the things he did do were really amazing.

When I was at collage, the Head of Art there gave me a stack of manga and anime that was going to be thrown out, because he knew I was into Manga and Anime. The first box on the pile was a VHS version of Perfect Blue - the first non-kiddy anime I'd seen. Although, admittedly, Perfect Blue is quite a head fook, I liked the fact it wasn't massive eye and mental hair anime - it was a serious story. Since then, I've seen Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika and loved them both

Your painting's really captured the spirit of Tokyo Godfathers it's a wonderful tribute :')

He was especially important to me because of the subjects he covered in his films. Dreams, personal issues, unhealthy relationships, dealing with curroption, bettering yourself, careing for people, doing good... His films were very HUMAN. Tokyo Godfather was my favorite of what I've seen... will try and get hold of the ones I haven't yet! What's more inspiring, was the fact he worked until he could work no longer. He really put everything into his work and I can really hope that one day I'll be more like him - even if he saw flaws in himself
