So this is a little bit of a late birthday present for I hope the rest of her birthday week goes fantastically.

I also wanted to thank you Nikki. Whether you realize it or not, you've been one of my closest friends for quite a while. I truly think of you as one of my best friends and you've helped me through some of my hardest times. Through out the last year I battled some of my most difficult episodes of anxiety and depression, because one of my closest friends had just left. Left and harbored aggression towards me for simply just being in a relationship. After losing that friend the world kinda broke for me and it was hard to see anything in the beautiful colors that the world truly is, instead I saw through the looking glass with a cracked lens.

It was hard. Besides my girl friend, I didn't think that I would be able to have real friends again. I didn't think my anxiety or my personal fears would allow me to open up, and so soon. But Nikki, you gave me an escape and a new friendship. You gave me little bits of time to just be an utter nonsensical goof ball, and write stupid and wonderful cat stories with, and draw internet oc's, and talk all about the fandom that we both obsess over. You listened to me rant and scream at the world, you've listened to me cry, and you've listened to me laugh. I felt if no one else, I could talk to you about all my frustrations.

Honestly, I am extremely grateful I decided we met and became friends because you're one of the best friends I've ever had. Screw the nonsense about internet friends not being able to become close, because I'd fight for you even while being half way across the country. You helped me see the colors again.

I know you're going through a tough time right now with anxiety and the workload from school weighing on your shoulders. It'll get better and you'll get it done. I know you will. You have determination. I also hope that I've been, or can be, as much as a support as you've been for me.

Happy Birthday Nikki. Go kick life's butt, because now you're an adult.
