Most people seem to hate the new Dante because of the hair and clothes, while it is true that Donte looks a lot different from the original, that's not the only problem with him, the reason why the old Dante was a great character despite the "I'm too cool to care about my shop being destroyed" attitude, was because it's fun to see that goofy pizza-lover doing something cool or saying something clever to a boss or some random character with a great sense of humor without relying on telling him/her to go fuck him/herself, but every time Donte tries to do that, he requires to curse a lot and acts like a jerk/bully with a really stupid and childish way of thinking of what being cool is. After all that nonsense I just can't help but facepalm and wish that Capcom just redeemed themselves by bringing the old Dante back. Also the quality of the writing in the new DmC is just unbearable, seriously, just look at his "Fuck You" exchange with the Succubus boss or when he punches the security and writes "Fuck you" in his list.
No, I'm not going to explain the "Donte" joke, just watch some of the cutscenes.
