Trial & Error practice... that's pretty much it on figuring out how to do different types of splatter.

Good Memory!
January 1st 2009, the very day I posted that first version was when you made that comment.
I had a friend who worked on a Sweeney Todd stage play (I think) but it was another friend that insisted I borrow and watch her copy of the movie and I was surprised that I really liked it... I maybe only watched it in full one time but I liked it.
It's damn near a pure full musical but it's very demented and darkly comical so that made a very big difference from your normal musical... meaning I never found myself hitting the mute button.
