I tried to imagine a young Gandalf. btw I totally ship him with Galadriel.XDGandalf brought the Elessar from Valinor to give it then to Galadriel. Galadriel had hoped Gandalf would lead the Council instead of Saruman. Gandalf was healed of his injuries and re-clothed in White robes by Her.
and then this. look at them. I love their relationship ಥ‿ಥ

don't take it as WoG (word of God) as i've got no degree in Tolkeniology (well it doesn't exist xD) but as a life-long lover of JRRT works i like the style

i like this, although gandalf is immortal, olorin once walked among the sons of iluvatar disguised as one of them so it makes sense that is like the same body he chooses to wear

I do get the idea that before he left Valinor, Gandalf most likely chose the appearance of a young man or Elf. It just "feels" right.
Living for 21,000 years, it seems weird that he'd choose the form of an old man all his life.

Now, to be honest, i LOVED the fact that you made his hair black. I always thought (my headcanon... in my fanfics he always has Black, raven-like hair, when he is younger, so bear with me here...) that before his hair whitened, it was black, but someone kinda demoted me from it and said to me that he was probably a blonde... it kinda made me a little depressed, but you just restored all my dreams and hopes, SO THANK YOU SO MUCH (And i am SO showing this to the person who destroyed my dreams *insert maniacal laugh here*)
(And his hair is gorgeous, OMFG, how can you think this is a bad drawing? This is wonderful T.T You made me so happy with it! I hope you are feeling better, tho...best of luck to you!)

Funny, I just read an interview somewhere that James McAvoy really wants to play a young Gandalf (or Olorin, I s'pose) in the Silmarillion . Then I find this. Were you inspired by that interview or is this totally a coincidence?

I don't think at all that Galadriel x Celeborn are a bad pairing... it's just that the movie makers chose a whole wrong kind of actor to cast him. I couldn't imagine chemistry between the two at all, which they really should have.
Something like this would have been much more like it.
