*sigh* Over to weekend I saw "Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust" Omigod! That movie just blew me away...it's so friggin detailed! Bwah...and D's so pretty, it's not fair! Heh...anyway this is my tribute to D...I'm probably going to do a few more, but this is the first. and was inspired by the DVD cover image. This was done purely with the tablet in photoshop using the weird white on black style I've been working with...it took me about 2 hours...thanks guys!Related content

This reminds me of a quote from Agar's fanfiction, "The temptation of D's Lefthand" on FF.net, where the symbiote ushers D to hurry up and do something about his hunger and carnal needs, before he spirals out of control. To which D stoically replies:
"It already is out of control."

I've got to comment again as I have forgotten to stress a good point... The movie Vampire Hunter D set the standard for a lot of american vampire stories as well... For example, the 'day walker' Blade is also a half vampire who swears vengeance against the nightbreed. Then there is Vampire the Masquerade which borrowed many of the elements presented in the early D movie. And of course it inspired the many B action movies, where a hardy group of 'vampire hunters' goes out and battles the supernatural. Finally, we go back to japan to meet Alucard from the castlevania series who is precisely similar to D in every single way. the half son of dracula. We owe so much to D.... awww... *hugs him* okay, I'll leave now.

oh man, what an excellent representation of D... You captured his tall, slender appearance and added just the right touch of sublte white undertones on his body armor to show the detail of his wiry frame. Also, I like his ears and facial expression, as D very rarely shows his eyes, all you every see is that smug expressionless pale face. I watched the first movie when I was young, and I fell in love with anime shortly afterwards. The newer movie was definetly much better, and I reccomend it to anyone. Beautiful work!

That's great. There simply isn't enough D art out there. I saw Bloodlust about 4 months ago. I didn't have very high expectations for the anime style, because the first one was so horrible, but needless to say, I was very pleasently surprised... On a scale of 1-10, it's an easy 9 1/2, if not 10. I'll check back for the rest of your D drawings.
