Description An early assignment this year was to shoot two photos - One for the concept of "freedom" and one for the concept of "not freedom" (I guess they couldn't think of a word for "not freedom") This was my freedom idea... Yay for wireless, we can work out under a tree, etc, etc...

Thanks a million to =JackSilver for patiently playing model for me.

This is a fun shot...lots of details to catch the eye, like the butterfly and the earpiece and all. Great job.

I love this... There's such a good contrast between the compuers and the wilderness... It reminds me of my perfect life. I love some new technology and would be lost without it... but another part of me just wants to go back to the 40's and live like simple folk... Maybe it's my love for that generation of cars

This is very well done for the most part. I like how he's in shadow and that puts him against a high key background. The only thing I'm not sure about is the color balance. It's got a very blue cast to it, which can be fixed with a few quick adjustments on a color balance layer.

NOOOOO!!!! What are you doing? This is not freedom, this is information slavery!

I laughed so hard when I saw this because I found it kind of ironic. Too many people are wired or addicted to the internet/technology, and the fact that it has become so easily accessible has made us increasingly dependent on it. So I find the fact that the guy in the photo can be in the wild, yet still able to connect a sign that he is never far nor free from information and technology.

Barring that, this would make a great HP ad.

LOVE IT! His expression is priceless. The butterfly is a very nice touch. This feels very "tongue-in-cheek"....

Only for me, "freedom" would be able to be free of all that stuff, and not feel the need to check my email a billion times a day or even be online at all! I'm an internet addict!!

Now see, I would have thought this to be the "not Free" shot. Here he is in the great outdoors - still wearing a tie and still chained to his laptop presumably slaving away at work.

Hey... that's me! How can I be there - when I am here? That's so weird!

Seriously... that's a great photo. You captured my best side... (hidden behind a ton of equipment).

Thanks for posting this and not making me feel foolish for modeling for you.

It came out great... and to think... you nailed the exposure.

(Though, I gotta tell you - I took this photo and edited my stomach a bit. Models like it when you make them look thin. Can you scream LIQUIFY?!)

hehe

I can see a new face of jack. He is an extraordinary photographer and he is a very good friend to you.
I like this shot and the concept it stands for, but I agree with a previous comment that says it works in both ways: Freedom of movement and not freedom from work.

Khav,

This could work both ways from a philosphical standpoint. Freedom from computer wires yet bondage in circumstances have bound him to the equipment in that he has to feel a need to bring it to an area where there's such a beautiful natural scenary.
