The first year, we had bought lolita dresses and wore those. People liked them a lot, and we felt bad getting pictures taken and having people go "oh my gosh your dress is adorable, I love it!!!" when it wasn't our work, so last year we decided to try making things.
We got a hugely positive response, so I guess we made the right choice. x3

my first CTcon was 2007, i cosplayed, but for the first hour or so on friday that i wasn't in my costume i felt so out of place D:

I think I'd feel very.....awkward if I WASN'T wearing some sort of crazy anime/rave outfit or cosplay. Kind like....going to a birthday party and not bringing a gift, y'know?
