I did it in Illstrator, so not sure of the number of layers - quite a few! I worked on and off for about a week or so.

i think that the flamingo is very delicate and the use of color is exact, the frame adds a lot in contrast and overall i liked it but there are two things that i find bothering,
the first is that the flamingo's neck isn't shiny enough, because the body is lighter my eyes automatically go to his body and the neck next to it look a tad dull,
and the second thing is that the background looks as if you ran out of energy, i know it's not suppose to be too much not to distract from the animal itself but i think it could of been done better especially on the left top corner.
