Description

Now that movie Sonic’s design is once again up in the air, I decided to see how I’d have done it.

Please don’t tell me how this is “better” or anything. This is not meant to jeer or gloat at Paramount - I have faith they’ll do great with Sonic. It’s just a friendly exercise.
Design notes:
- stumpier proportions
- fangs
- elongated, more animal face (so it’s not squished at the front of the head)
- thick, meaty, expressive eyebrows
- kept the paw pads
- smooth, simplified lines where possible
- dark lashes to define eyes
- white nose bridge to “connect” eyes
Bear in mind that this is a 2D render and doesn’t accurately reflect plausible anatomy. That said, if the folks at Paramount find it at all useful, I renounce any claim on my design of Sonic here, other than the fact that I drew this image.
