FINALLY!!!!FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!!!So and so months of thinking about drawing this art trade and I finally did it!
deserves a PATIENCE award for sure..
This was my part of our art trade and I tried a bit of a different style...with attempted dramaitc lighting. And perspective..Sorry Angel if he didn't turn out right..>.<;

Alternate Paladin: (He does not appear in the book this way but he does look like this) Paladin cuts muscular figure out of armor and it's clear that he a warrior from the many scar scattered across his body. He wears a black waist wrap with his greaves and a pair sandals under it. He also keeps his bracers on. The waist wrap is ornate with many folds and a hem of silver ribbon. His hair is bright gold with a red tint and shot through with grey- but he does nt appear to be more than 30 years old. His eyes are pale blue as fitting of an angel and his skin looks lightly tanned dispite his long exile. Paladin most often seems either uncomfortable, sad or angry in this form.

Well he's not African actually but I can see where you'd get that idea...the dark shadows,hair, etc...

Now if I never saw defined abs... x] Nice work! Only crit I would have in this picture is that the abs look quite... spherical. Don't ask me why, I think it's just me. But otherwise, what a lovely picture!

Ah it's ok...Actually the left leg was an attemp at foreshortening and sincemy scanner was too small to fit the rest of the pic in nobody can see the right leg/foot to see that..

I really like the crosshatching on this Meg. It really makes things stand out.
I'm looking at your request for advanced critique and first, let me say that your style has remained strong throughout all the years I have known you while your skill has only grown and grown. That said, let me offer you this:
Hands are a BEAST to draw. I know. It took me forever to get to a point where you could actually tell what the hand was doing...and even then I still struggle. Look at your own hands when you draw, put them into positions that will help you to achieve what you are going for. If need be, use a mirror.
The other thing is that abdominal muscles (and all muscles) are rarely circular. They tend to fit into that basic shape but they are more oblong and odd shaped. Look for references wherever you can. Stock photos are great for that (if you can find the ones that aren't horrendously pornographic). Also, anatomy books are good for that and are hardly erotic.
Aside from that it looks awesome. The bend of the left arm looks fantastic and the hair is superb! Keep it up Meg, because you can do anything!

Yes I think when I went over the drawing in pen is what really messed up everything...The left hand and right arm for sure...
Ab-wise....The pen again...I was afraid of losing the abs when I went back over the pick in pen so I kep the basic shape..whoops...>.<;

He certainly looks heavily attractive and I do particularly love on his hair. Mm. Want to pull it.
Anyways. Onto the part you always despise coming from me, right?
The little thing that I don't see too well in this is his torso area. It seems too one shape - too square/rectangular inspite the fact that he is muscular (and I would think he'd have broader shoulders as a result, wider than his hips) and is slightly bending. I just think that there could be a bit more of a definition of a waist on him. His hips seem a little big too.
Other than that I like the simplicity of it as well.
