I ended up missing Thursday's and Monday's "I'm My Own Mascot" update because of Otakon, so I thought I'd whip up a special color cartoon to make up for it.Had this idea for quite some time, glad I'm able to finally put it on paper. I act this way more often than I'm willing to admit.
Anyway, we'll be back to your regulary-scheduled "I'm My Own Mascot" on Thursday.

I know of 3 out of those 4; Gen13 is the only one I haven't seen even a glimpse of yet.Β To be fair, I live under a rock and don't know about a lot of things I should know about.
If the my suspicions are correct, Runaways will get its chance to shove itself in everyone's face soon enough.Β Isn't that series do for a TV show or Netflix series of some sort?Β I could have sworn I heard chatter to that effect and, if The New Mutants can get a movie (that looks nothing at all like the New Mutants I'm familiar with), then I don't see why Runaways can't...Aside from the utter lack of their supervillain parents being established in any of the current cinematic universes to explain what they're running away from...But I'm sure they'll think of something; those whacky movie studios always do.

Yeah, Runaways is about to have a series on hulu....so a limited audience compared to Agent Carter or Agents of Shield or even Inhumans which air on abc.Β And yeah, their supervillain parents are gonna be in it.Β Nico's mom even had a 3 second cameo in Dr. Strange.
But in any case, its small potatoes compared to other franchises.Β I've made a group on it and its still just 23 members

Wait, Marvel's tying this into their movies and they went with Hulu over Netflix?Β Kinda strange, given their track record together.Β Wonder if it means the Marvel-Netflix marriage isn't doing so hot or if Hulu is forking out extra money to get a bigger slice of the pie?
In any event, I think Hulu's a better place for a superhero series than ABC anyway.Β The effects budget on ABC seems limited and, if Agents is any indication, they're pretty committed to telling uninteresting stories, so Runaways would have been wasted there.Β I also haven't heard A THING about Agents or Carter since they debuted and Inhumans is only on TV because they couldn't make the movie work, so I don't think ABC is the best place for publicity either.Β Not if you want Undertale or Dark Souls "I literally can't turn my computer on without seeing it" levels of attention, anyway.
I hope the series gets more attention, though.Β If the show lives up to the comic's reputation, then maybe someone on Reddit will talk it up and turn a lot of people onto it; like an inverted case of My Little Pony's rise to popularity.

To be fair, those of us who do get this enraged are more upset about the fact that something we view as tasteful and entertaining is getting waylaidΒ by a less appealing (And in some cases less invested, TTG I'mΒ looking at you!). All art's subjective so take that as you will but It's hard not to hate something that is bad to you and popular because you'll never hear the end of it.
