Description
This is Tromso, Norway, one of the coolest places I've been. This was taken around 2 pm and it was already dark. The moon was brilliant, and during the 3 hours of sunlight, a friend and I climbed up a mountain to enjoy this view.Related content

We climbed the mountain that has the chair lift on it for skiing. Not sure what it was called.....but yea, there was a path that led to the summit, but instead of following this we climbed straight up. Quite the adventure! You live in a beautiful place!

that's fantastic! i'm heading to tromso in about one month, and was curious what the polar nights looked like. it must be a pretty amazing feeling though, as this is just a breathtaking view. well worth the climb i'm sure.

Yes, it's quite amazing up there! And this picture was taken exactly a year ago today! I'm think it should look similar in another month. The northern lights are also spectacular there...it's really just a magical place. I recommend going up to the top of the gondola, whether you hike up there (just make sure you take the right trail!) or the gondola.

Wow, neat timing then. Thank you for the advice, I've a few planned safaris into the wilderness for a hopeful sighting, or two, or twenty, of the Aurora.
