Hey everyone, long time no see. I figured it was time I introduce everyone on dA to my personal world building project that I've been working on in my free time. These are designs for an art book I hope to make some day. It’s a medieval dark fantasy setting and the art is created as if it is designed for a game. I’m taking the classic approach and creating character, classes, weapons, monsters, and environments. These are mainly inspired by my favorite games/films like dark souls, bloodborne, the Witcher, and some others rpgs. Though it seems like Dark Souls is my primary influence.

Creature design is my favorite so you'll see more of that than anything. If you have any suggestions or advice please let me know. And if you want to see more let me know! To start these are some mammal enemies that you'd encounter in the open world. Imagine yourself playing an open world souls game with elements from the witcher and the new assassins creed games. What would you use to fight these opponents?

Wolf - medium predators that hunt in packs. They sometimes appoint a massive dire wolf as their alpha.

Panserbjorn - monstrous bears that are guardians of lost mages whose magic has kept them alive for centuries. They have unnatural strength and are seemingly impossible to kill; each garnishing trophies from battles won all over their bodies. It is speculated that warriors souls reside in these bears and explains why they're extremely aggressive and formidable opponents. Unlike regular bears, they especially enjoy eating human flesh.

Dorynean Greatboar - massive bears with powerful tusks that charge anything that wanders into their territory. Their tusks are incredibly strong and are used for the crafting of weapons and for alchemical purposes....of course, if you can get them from the boar in the first place.

Bear - Those not as powerful as their immortal man-eater counterparts, bears are still very dangerous to come across. Approach with caution.
