I've been kind of inactive recently, because it seems everyone's birthdays/events/what have you have all come at once, plus I've had commissions I've needed to finish for deadlines etc. This is one of them. I must admit I was very trepidatious about drawing this as I had a very hard reference photo to work from (small, a bit blurry, awkward pose, very strong shadows where I couldn't see much detail...) but I was persuaded to try. I think it came out well despite the difficulties though Still, from now on I'm going to be more strict about what I can work from! Plus I haven't properly tried to draw a horse for several years! I did enjoy working with pencil again though.

Drawn with a variety of pencil grades and copious use of erasers.

:EDIT: Just realised there are some marks on it...those are from my scanner, and are not on the actual drawing... hmm I will have to clear those off.
