Wheee I'm seeing if I can try out this Pokedex challenge that I've seen floating around on tumblr. Not sure at this point that every pic I do for this will be submitted to DA but I'm pleased enough with this first one to dump it onto here.

Day 1 — Favorite normal-type: Eevee

Okay so Eevee isn’t actually my favorite normal-type pokemon, but I’ve been itching to draw my own interpretation of it for months and now I finally felt like I had an excuse to do it. :’D

I based this design for it off of a group of mammals called Miacids, which was a family of early carnivores that lived about 62-33 million years ago. They’re thought to be the ancestors of the modern carnivore families. Many of them were arboreal, and most of them looked quite a lot like modern-day martens or civets.

Thought that might all make sense considering Eevee’s many evolutions that seem to be based on various carnivores.

Also I did this entire thing really late at night so lazycoloring ahooooooooooooy. 8U
