Satoshi Kamiya's "Yellow Bird"I know I've folded it before, but that was on paper 4 times as large as this, so this was bit of a challenge. Oddly enough, it was actually easier. I now have a theory saying that because you can hold the whole thing in your hand, it is less likely to unravel as you fold small parts of the whole. Or it might have been because it's metallic. At any rate, I plan on maybe retrying more of the ones I've already done at a smaller scale. And I'll have to pick up some smaller paper I think, since the metallic colours don't photograph that well. And if I cut the larger papers I have down, then there's 2 frayed edges. Which I want to avoid at all costs.

I know, right?! This one came out sooooo much better then my original, and I think I captured a lot more of what the designer intended behind the design. The foil, btw, works awesome here! I can't wait to do the other ones. Only problem is that this is the only foil one (since gold needs to be distiguised from yellow), so...ya. I'm at a loss as to how the others will come out.

It's actually surprisingly sturdy (My brother batted it out of the air when I tossed it to him and it only needed some minor reshaping of the head and wings), and it's the first 2-legged creature I've been able to get to stand up with no help. Probably the really long toes. It does look cute though, I'll give it that! If you were closer to the montreal region, I'd make you one, but so far I don't have plans to make them on commission since it'd be so expensive for the consumer to pay for the shipping. If you want one badly enough, I can look into shipping prices and we can work on a price, but that's up to you.

heh. Chocobos are awesome! Which is funny since I don't really like ostritches that much and they're kinda similar. I mean, both are ginourmous flightless birds...There's just something about the chocobo though. Maybe it's the giant head or something.

I'd rather fold a yoshi somehow and see who'd win that race (Though I'm betting on the Chocobo...)!
I do plan on doing more of these though. I plan to present a complete set of them to a friend of mine who's obsessed with the Final Fantasy series. so yellow, blue, green, red, brown, white, black and gold. So ya. There's at least that mmuch left.

Almost right. see, there's not supposed to be any white showing, but I'll get there. the shape is perfect this time, so next time (and there will be a next time. Probably red, green and blue ones) I'll focus more on the tightness of the folding, getting all the edges to line up. This time was more just ot see if I could do it at that size, which apparently I can.
