Another drawing of Lordan, this must be some time shortly after he finished his testing for Spirit Talking, because he's still got his stitches in.No, I still don't have the full story for him. I'm afraid he's bringing with him a HUGE amount of background of how this pseudo religion thing he's a part of came about, and I don't have all the details worked out yet. I totally wasn't planning on anything like him for Infinity Gate, but he's quite insistent in being part of the story, and I can kinda see how he's going to fit in with the others already.
I do know that Lordan was taken from his family at a very young age, and forced into training for Spirit Dance. He takes no pleasure in performing for others, but he enjoys the movement of the dance itself, and he's considered incredibly gifted at it.

*beaming* That's exactly what I was working on doing! *so happy* I'm so glad you noticed. The OC's I've created for this story...so many of them have been huge vivid, detailed characters that just kinda crawled into my brain and took up residence. This guy for example. He just wouldn't leave me alone.
Ah, I'm sure I'll never be a Master, but I want to at least keep improving and be able to push myself further.

*beaming: Thank you so much Dear! This character, he's just stormed into my story, and demanded to be included, hehe. I suppose he is a gentle person in some ways though. He's kinda like a priest almost (I haven't invented all his background yet, so it's kinda muddled still), but he was given no choice in the matter. He's had no chance to make his own decisions, and choose his own fate, so how interesting might things get when he's given that opportunity, that's what I think. I'm looking forward to writing him, I just need to get his place in the story figured out, and his background all written. He brings so much with him to the story I wasn't expecting.

I've had a few that were demanding that way. Lord Arren, who insisted on creating himself when I was supposed to be drawing something else, and for whom the whole world was created. Moonfeahr, who almost grabbed me and shook me with his story, and now Lordan here. The rest have been quieter, and shoot, two of the characters that start the story didn't want to come to me at all, and slunk and hid, and had to be coaxed out so I could draw them.

I tried to do another of him, it's in my scrapbook...well, it was anatomy practice at first, and I wasn't going to finish it, I wanted to try for his dancer body. Well I finished it, but it's messed up badly. Still, it had pretty abs to look at, hehe.

Yes, he does something like a combination between dance and martial arts. I'm still trying to work out how the Spirit talking part of it plays in though, but this guy really wanted me to work on him this weekend. If I hadn't failed totally on the other, I'd have two drawings of him (I put the fail in my scrapbook).

Nice, very nice. Love those sleepy eyes...better get him a pillow before he falls asleep and hits his pretty little head! Hey, his scar switched sides! It likes to travel I guess...you know, see the world and all

His scar didn't switch sides, they actually slashed both sides of his face open during the ceremony, supposedly to allow the Spirit Talking access or some such weird thing. (mostly because I needed an excuse for that scar I created to cover the ugly place I'd made on his face in the first drawing...
His hair was a disaster here, so I'm glad the finished product looks OK. I have a feeling his hair is going to give me nightmares every time I draw him.

Hmmm, well light hair is awfully hard to draw...digitally or with pencil, so I can totally feel your pain. Maybe he needs some kind of religious scarf or bandana to cover some of that difficult hair, so you have an excuse to draw less of it

It was the final test of his training. He's spent nearly his whole life training in dance, fighting and Spirit Talking. He'd already passed the tests for the other two aspects, but the Spirit Talking is the most...gruesome of the tests. (Much of it is theatrics and for show).

It would have been fine if it hadn't looked like it was going to work, and look good for a while. For a brief while I thought "Holy Cow, am I going to pull this off on a complete practice piece" so then when it fell apart again, I took it kinda hard.

Yeah, pretty much just exactly like that! I battled mightily with my pencil, and very nearly destroyed the whole drawing in the process. (I started drawing them going the wrong direction, eeep!)

Really? I'm glad he's easily recognizable. I tried to structure the shape of his face the same, but I was worried I'd failed, since the angle is a little strange here.
