I chose Young as the title to fit my 100 drawing challenge. She's a little over a year older than me.

I will definitely keep in mind the points you made about technique: I'm always afraid of shading too dark, because then I'm afraid I won't be able to erase it if I make a mistake!
Hair is usually my downfall, so I will definitely work on that.
As for her mouth, that's how it was in the reference picture, so I made it look exactly as the picture showed, I didn't want to take any artistic license on this one. (This was for a project in highschool, we had to make an almost exact dplicate of a person's face, as exact as possible to the photo)... But I do see where you're coming from. Had I chose to tweak the drawing, I would definitely do so.

Well, if that's the case then cast a shadow over it and judge from the darkness of the shadow. I do it all the time. Try using a solid object for dark shading and a very light object like a paper for light shadows. (Light goes through paper more easily as opposed to a solid object) I know it sounds cheesy but I have very little resources >//<
Well the hair was really great! Just a little more highlight and variation. Trust me, it's great compared to others I've seen, including my own. It's a hard skill.

If she is related to the Harry Potter franchise then presumably she's a brit. I ought to know her then, but confess I do not. Harry Potter was not a phenomenon that really milked my goat.
