Hey
Just wanted to chip in with a tip~
The irises should be placed so that it seems as if the eyes are focused (unless you were going for a spaced out look..?). An easy way to think of it is to imagine that each individual eye is looking at the same place in the room- do not put the iris in the same place on both eyes (easy beginner mistake, I still make it more than I should )
I'd suggest studying eyes and how to hint at roundness by adding little crinkles and under-eye lines (don't worry, it won't make your character look tired if you do it right^^)
Also, you may want to add more highlights and darks around the mouth to suggest depth.
That is all><
Your other portraits are really nice, and I'm insanely jealous of how you use colour lol....
I can tell that you'll improve really fast, so I'm just gonna watch for now

Oh yeah I had a tough time with this painting and I did this one month before my first photo study Photo Study 01   I agree that the eyes need fixing, I think I even started to do more study on how to paint a more realistic eye and how to shade it properly haha. The image is missing contrast as well and some sharpness, so yeah it need more highlight here and there, mostly around the nostril, the mouth area, upper lips and the corner of the lips. The hair need more "flow" and I didn't know how to render it either haha.

Thank you for your feedback  it's nice to see someone's perspective on a "old" work  and I'm glad that you like my colored work but I really don't have a lot of them. I mostly paint in gray scale for now since I want to learn more about getting the correct values and eventually I'm gonna move back to colored artwork, so one step at a time hehe.

Awe thank you, I'm glad that you like the hair because I found it really difficult to draw and render!

You're welcome! It takes a lot of hard work to get the illustration all perfect.

Indeed. It's obvious that not everyone will be satisfied with their hard work.
