Ebichu started off in 1991 whilst Hamtaro started in 2000. However, there were some Hamtaro Manga before the TV series which I don't know when it was published!

The Hamtaro manga was first published in the girl's magazine Ciao! in 1997. So it still came after Ebichu, apparently.
