bittersweet

sorry, but that is a good thing for an artist or writer, because it means they actually had an effect on someone!

Carlow15 In reply to kenmeyerjr [2009-12-16 19:08:39 +0000 UTC]

oh no, no, don't be sorry this picture's fantastic!
but i get what you mean; hightened emotions by a receiver always mean the artist's done sth right. no need to feel guilty, if anything then successfull.

Very, very well done. I'm not sure I like it, though. It almost makes his death look more beautiful than tragic, but that's just me. I can appreciate it for the motivation and the way it was done.

kenmeyerjr In reply to IloveSTRANGLE [2009-02-25 04:19:05 +0000 UTC]

IloveSTRANGLE In reply to kenmeyerjr [2009-02-25 22:56:42 +0000 UTC]

well, I am already a really emotional person, and well knowing that drowning was the way he died made the drawing a little harsh at first, but it's a beautiful drawing.

this is pretty amazing. but i hate how this piece is so tragic and heartbreaking. of all the beautiful memories we have of jeff, why should we remember this?

in Dido's Lament jeff buckley sang, "remember me but forget my fate"

true that. i read somebody's comment saying that this piece makes you feel emotion and thats what art is all about- or something like that, and thats pretty true too.

thanks for sharing this piece with us

No problem at all. Jeff Buckley is to this generation what Lennon was in that most of us can remember where we were when we heard of his untimely end. Wayyyyyy too soon. I have done two other portraits of him that you hopefully have seen as well.
