Today, at 11:38 Am, my pet and friend, Topaz; was euthanized due to cancer.
She was an incredible, wonderful, and tremendous cat. She was there for me when all I could feel was dread- when I thought the only form of release was suicide. In these moments of silence, when I was completely alone and felt isolated, she would always find me and try her best to comfort me. Paw at my door and take refuge in my bed. Follow me around and become my shadow.
And as I watched the life escape from her body, in a matter of seconds, I only hope that my simple gestures were enough to comfort her. And I hope that she could feel how much we loved her.
R.I.P Topaz, The years we spent with one another were beyond words, and I’m so glad I got to spend them with you. I’ll see you in the astral realms.
