Description This really should be called "Cleaning out my .pat Folder" lol. Most patterns are large in size (dpi and "#"x"#") Includes png files and has a grungy Christmas pat that is not included in Preview. Use wherever and however you like. Linkbacks are appreciated but not necessary.

How to install
1. Unpack the file using 7-zip, Winrar, or some other program that can unpack rar files.
2. Move .pat files to your GIMP pattern folder usually found at C:\Users\"Username"\.gimp-2.6\patterns.
3. Refresh pattern files by clicking the recycle symbol at the bottom of the pattern window or by closing and reopening GIMP.

Great, you've got the instruction on how to install. Nice patterns. I tend to stay away from the tiled look but I think I will make use of some of these pretty patterns. Thanks.

how do I open this file. Β I have windows 8.1. Β It asks me how do I want to open this type of file. what program do I use? why am I finding it so difficult to use the patterns offered for GIMP. Β I just don't get it!

I just read the instructions. This is way too complicated for me. Β Please simplify the opening process.

Thank you for these! I really like the one on the far right of the middle tier. I'll have to play with these and see what I come up with!

I've had the same problem before. In Weirdows (aka, Windows) you have to install Python and then reinstall Gimp to get the support up and running.

I know. Look at the bright side, you're not running Vista! *yech!*

Just a thought: what I do when I have to reinstall, is copy my scripts, patterns, plugins, etc. folders to a safe location then copy/paste the contents of each folder to the new directories after the reinstall. This speeds things up quite a bit.

Hope that helps a bit.

Yes I do the same but I download so many things that they are scattered here, there and everywhere. I suppose it is time to clean house. Did you see my note about Open Source Tutoring?

I saw it. My cash flow is rather narrow at the moment and I'm saving to get a used laptop, so, I have limited discretionary funds. But, it's a great idea to make a bit of extra money. And your prices seem right, especially considering what the competition charges.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone else who uses Open Source software except me. (I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere, we don't have many geeks of any flavor) So, I have no one to refer to you. Sorry!

This is a good time to look for laptops b/c you can catch the tail end of the Christmas inventory sales. I bought a laptop last year thaqt is an Everex (no longer made) on ebay for $180 that has 2gb ram, 160gb hard drive, and a celeron processor w/ Vista(switched back to xp the minute it arrived) so it really was a steal. I used on of those auction sniper programs and since it was an offname brand, there werent many people watching the auction.

Cool! I'll check e-bay for sure. I've already been on craigslist. (looking for laptops, not that other stuff!)

Auction sniper program? Never heard of them. Can you recommend one?

Unless I can find a deal I can't refuse, I'm thinking of going with a refurb company though, cause if the machine doesn't work, I can get a replacement/refund much easier than I could on e-bay. Plus a 90 day warranty. If it's going to have a hardware melt down it'll probably go in the first month.

I've found a decent IBM that has a separate video card (as opposed to the video sharing RAM with the operating system)

I'm somewhat partial to IBMs. The computer I'm typing this at McDonald's on is a Thinkpad T23 that originally had Windows 98 on it! I have two other laptops (that halfway work) one HP and one Compaq, both are newer and both have serious hardware problems. I've had an IBM before and was well pleased with it.

But, this IBM just keeps going and going and going... I wouldn't switch but, I need something that can run my air card or I have no internet at home, and the Compaq is getting more and more glitchy. And I tried the air card on my desktop. Had to do a complete system reinstall.

I used ibay [link]

It was recommended on cnet. It's also how I bought my ipod.

Thanks! But, I already found one that was "buy now"

It's an IBM T60 dual core with 2 gigs of RAM, a 200GB HDD and Win XP preloaded.

That'll do very nicely, I think, and even handle my 3D animation programs.

But, thanks for taking time to reply I'll keep that program around for my next purchase.
