A little story behind this shot:
June 2013 - Tornado Alley. The storm came in with high winds making my house shake and the straps to hold it down move. Suddenly, a transformer pops outside and the power goes out, comes back on, goes out permenantly. It was lightining outside and the rain was pouring down hard. and coming intermittently until the entire storm blows through. As we scrambled to collect our power outage resources, such as a flashlight, and such, I come to the conclusion that this is the most exciting moment ever, as I get to use my smart phone [Tmobile Mytouch4g] for all our necessities. We light the only candle we have, a small candle that has only enough wax for the ordeal. We have every expensive electronic plugged into a UPS as well. We put the headphones onto my phone and turn on the radio and use the flashlight to get around the house, however, the battery was about dead. The only thing on right now is radio, as TV and even all the 3G/2G/E towers were down. You can't call anyone either. "13,000 without power." That was all I needed to know. I discover that I am hungry and we have a gas stove. I plug the electric can opener into the UPS and open a can of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti Rings and Meatballs. I put it in a pan on the stove and used a candle for some light and the flashlight for the rest but not putting it on the whole time, as my battery is dying. I eat this food, and suddenly the power comes back on, and my family is outside now at this point. "Quie-scent! Come look at this sky!" I come outside and the sky was entirely red and orange. I ran out to the outter road and took this shot. 13,000 without power. 75mph gusts. 65mph winds. Pouring rain. Lightining everywhere. And this is the aftermath of an intense storm.
