EDIT: The Series

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

So I've come to realise I draw hair FAR too much, and I want to really explore my style and develop it, and experiment with new ideas and things! I've been in love with drawing night skies ever since my last piece, and I really wanted to play with a focus on landscapes and the human form. Though this is more fantasy/waterscapes than landscapes, it's one of a bunch of ideas I have in mind and will follow up on soon! Really happy with how it turned out though hooray!

I hope you like it!

Contrast, mistery, surreal, imaginative.

Those would be some of the terms that pop into my mind when looking at this piece e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> At first I stumbled upon it in your album and said to myself 'wow, this looks amazing, and at the same time, a bit different than this artist's usual works.'

The colour blend feels fascinating, perfectly in tune with the landscape. It has everything: the moon and stars, the land and mountains, the sea, all linked together by the human element, which reminds me of real life, in fact.

What I love the most about your works are the (wavy) white conturing lines. It really pops out the details and puts a lovely emphasis on the artwork overall.

As for less than good aspects, I have nothing to negatively critique. This piece is fabulous! ^^

Really an amazing piece and just the use of color would be enough to make this an instant favorite. Using complementary colors through out really brings the piece balance and the use of the dark character concecting with the light moon between the two sections plays well for the composition and gives a sense of conection with nature.

I actually love the seperation with the wave in the middle to me represents the break between land and sea. It has a huge impact on the composition and brings more light to the subject matter. What makes this piece especially special though is the little detail such as the light green string wrapped around the characters wrist gives the character a bit more background and give the viewer something to imagine why exactly she is tied up. Very engaging beautiful piece!

Wow!
Amazing how you brought the two sceneries together in this, I absolutely adore the way you draw hair as if it's underwater or something. It gives the piece this amazing flow, this goes for your other work as well. The spiraling and wavy strokes of highlights and lowlights really bring it together with the style the hair is drawn. Great color palette. Great piece. Great emphasis on the moon while still bringing the eye to focus on the woman at the same time. Thank you for requesting a critique! Please keep up the amazing work! You have serious talent.
(sorry i'm pretty new to this, hope that was what you wanted)

The cool colors are amazing. Your palette does suggest tranquility and transcendence. I can feel the mysterious moon and the ocean blending together. I find it visually interesting the juxtaposition of the linear line and the organic line.

I do agree with that the horizon line that is created with the ocean/wind wave may be to centralized. Although, I was so busy looking at everything else that it didn't immediately strike me as a visual hiccup.

Obviously I must have a wondering eye because one thing that did strike me was her chest. Something about the contour of her breasts matching the contour of her elbows made me think of elbow shadows...like her breasts were really mirrors of her elbows. I'm wondering if you moved up the glow from between her breasts to more of a radiating heart glow if it might look less like four elbows.

I think you have a successful piece and I enjoyed looking at it. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous.
All the shadings and all the colors mixed together just looks so nice...
I definitely recommend you to keep exploring your skills and developing new content. Never be afraid to make it different.
Not saying that your other art works aren't amazing ('cause they are), I just think that it would be so much better and so much enjoyable for you to make, if it turned out a little bit different.
Randomness turns out better than expected.
Of course your drawing skills are much better than mine, but still...

Hoping that helps! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

Hi e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
First of all, you have a beautiful drawing style and it's great to see you exploring it. I really like the colour scheme you picked for this, with a lot of cool colours but also a bit of yellow and purple. You also have some lovely textures going on and I love the way you drew the lines coming down from the moon. It's a very nice visual aspect.

Okay time for constructive criticism. I feel like the top half and bottom half aren't connected enough. The textures and objects all suddenly change at that wavy middle line. I would suggest either putting the wavy line either higher or lower in the artwork, so the artwork doesn't looked halved at the middle, or having more similarities between the top half and the bottom half. The white moon drips do that to a certain extent, but there could be more things connecting the halves.

Hope that helps!

This reminds me of art by kingsanda, reminiscent of 70s and 80s sci-fi artwork. Really impressive and inspiring.

Beautiful, beautiful work. I love your distinct style and energetic and emotional pieces. Something I have a problem with that you seem to do as well is as soon as I start drawing it's the same thing, women / people. I love your art dearly, but as a fellow artist I'd like to challenge you to do something different!

Thank you so much!

Honestly, I couldn't agree more. I constantly am trying to challenge myself to break boundaries of what I've done previously, and though I still do in a way stay within my comfort zone, I do constnatly try to do something different! Slowly I've started to incorporate animals, which I've never done before. To me, thats a huge feat!

FOR REAL?!?!?!?!?? OH MY GOD!
I applied for the artists submission for the avant card postcards a few months ago and got the heads up. I was told they'd be rolling out this year but I had no idea when. Oh my god I can't believe this is happening!

I think different stands have a slightly different selection, though? And I was looking at the Avant Card website and it says "Artists recieve 500 copies for their own use", so surely you'll get some eventually

Sorry I can't provide much constructive critique on this one. I just came to say that this piece is amazing and I'm not sure why, but I really connect with it. Whether the colors, mood, lighting....there's something graphic and intellectual going on. This piece makes me feel something. Love it. 5 stars!!

Thank you so much! It means the world that you can connect to it. I want my work to inspire, to tell a story, and to connect to people. So for even one of those to occur, thats' the ultimate compliment.
