The final piece of my small watercolour series, "Freedom". I painted this not too long ago, but it's apart of my journey to create watercolour paintings and digital paintings more regularly side by side!

This series was definitely the start of my sudden urge to paint with watercolours and shows my signs of my obsession with hair. A brief explanation: The reason I tend to draw hair and use 'abstract' or 'visual' elements stemming from the hair, is because to me, the hair 'symbolizes' the mind, consciousness and thoughts. So for this series, the idea of birds 'flying free' from the hair, is symbolic for the freedom of the mind. The idea's quite recurrent throughout a majority of my work, but this is just a brief synopsis of this set in particular!

So beautiful as always. I love how the hair looks like a cloud/bush with the birds bursting out of it. The mix of greens and yellows are put together with a wonderful harmony. I also like how the women is framed like she's popping out of this circle, and of course you are always good at the faces. Sp her expression is one of peace, hence freedom. Absolutely wonderful

Hehe, the 'cloud/bird' effect of the hair is meant to create the sense of 'fleeting freedom' of the mind per se, that's the idea at least! YAYYY
