I'm FREEEEE! I just finished my final week of exams and assessments for the semester!
Not that I'm complaining or anything, I'm just relieved to have made it outta that stressful week 
This little lady is a little experimentation with negative space and using masking tape to create geometric bordered backgrounds, like so.
Would love to hear what you guys think

Is there a print for this piece?

I love this piece! It's very peaceful. The roses are extremely beautiful too. I like that you didn't detail the painting and just have that strong blue stripe in the background. It gives the piece strength. I see you've used the negative watercolour technique in In Repose, you could use masking tape for that as well, especially if you want to keep thin details. Can't wait to see more! I'm a very very big fan of yours, as you well know ^^

Indeed, it's often really difficult to judge between excessively detailing and knowing when and what to strip back to balance it all, so I guess this was a bit of a experimentation and practice in seeing what can be stripped back, especially with negative space.

Its great to hear that you can get a chance to relax. I am sure that you have done great on all those exams.
I feel that if you did more/finished the hair would have helped balance the picture out a bit more. Its still nice piece and her nose is not super red.

It's, It's... beautiful!! Really kelogs! This is another piece i've come across where everything is done so right. I LOVE how the roses are painted, or course how they're drawn, and the color, placement of color and the smoke like texture of the blue and back paint. Every background is perfectly balanced and placed! And love how...... oh what are the words to describe it....but how the middle section is soft colors and fades/turns to white as it's moving away from center. It makes your bold line give it depth but can also be scene as just a decorative stipe. I love art like this! Simple but so much more.
Oh and congradulations for making it though you semester!
