A few people messaged me regarding this. Tonight, I finally got around to watching the video, and I felt I had a moral obligation to spread the word myself.

Until now, I'd never heard of this man. For over 20 years, he has been snatching African children from their homes, turning the boys into soldiers and the girls into sex slaves. He forces them to kill their own parents, and turns them into his own personal army.
To this day, he hasn't been captured. Most of the world don't even know his name. Until tonight, I was one of them.
Please spend 30 minutes of your time to watch this, and spread the word. If we could only remove a single evil individual from the world in our lifetime, this guy would likely be top of my list.
The internet is one of the single most powerful tools that mankind has ever had, as an international community.
It costs NOTHING to spread the word of a good cause.
And this, believe me, is a good cause.

One of the things I always say in ANY matter is to investigate things yourself. For me, it's the same for this Kony2012 issue.

Now, I still think Kony2012 is a good idea, in regards to sharing the video, and getting word out about who this man is, and why he should be stopped. There is no doubt he is a terrible evil to this world.
However...
Seeing the above tumblr post, and looking into it's sources, I can see why some people are condemning the Invisible Children organization. Indeed, I myself do not agree with where it's money goes, nor the fact that they support the Liberation Army (who have their own list of crimes committed).
For that reason, I do not support purchasing items from Invisible Children Inc., nor do I support donating towards them. If you wish to do so, that is by all means your own personal choice. However, having read their 2011 finances, I am strongly decided in my own mind that the organisation does not distribute it's donations and profits in a way befitting a charitable organization, and so I personally do not support giving them my money.
Then why am I still linking the video, you might ask?
Because it's powerful, it already exists, and it's getting the message out about this man to the world. If another video, without affiliation to any particular non-profit group existed that educated and moved people as this one does, I'd link that. So far, I don't know of one.
Their message is still important. Kony needs to be stopped, of that there is no doubt... but when it comes to getting money involved with this group, I'm afraid that I cannot personally encourage it.
So please, continue to share the video, and the message of who Kony is, but think twice before pledging financial support to this group.
It's always important to read up on things like this, instead of just accept what you are told without question. I hope my own search into Invisible Children and Joseph Kony encourages some of you to look more deeply into the issue. I'm not saying "YOU MUST NOW BELIEVE THE SAME THING AS I BELIEVE ABOUT THIS GROUP". Far from it. I'm suggesting that everyone give the matter some research before giving them your money.
Derren Brown recently retweeted someone who sums up my developed view on this issue perfectly: "I support the main idea but we may need to question those leading the charge."

I've been looking into it as well after I first heard about it simply because I like studying things like this.(They interest me) and the things you find out about Invisible Children are rater hinky in my opinion. The more you look into it you do question it.
But I also find myself more disgusted with Kony the more I look into him as well. It's not a fun read but it does help broaden the understanding on the situation that's going on which is always a good thing.

me and my uncle got really into this same subject. and i've decided to just print out some posters and spread the word, in that way. and then use the money to actually go to africa and see for myself how horrible this invisible children really gotten.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or if you already know, but have you heard of the film Machine Gun Preacher? It's a true story about a man called Sam Childers who found God and went to Africa and witnessed firsthand what Joseph Kony and the LRA are doing over there. So, he built a large orphanage there and has been leading rescue missions into LRA territory and stealing children /back/. It's amazing what he's doing, and he's taken out a lot of the LRA.

Thank you for posting this, it's good to be informed about ALL aspects of an organization, even one like this. But I definitely agree that even if you we don't support the actual group promoting the cause, the cause itself is enough to share this video with everyone.

They aren't "bad", persay.... they're just somewhat dishonest about their funding. Excessive amounts are being spent in places that are not necessary, instead of going directly towards helping those in need.
They still have the honourable goal of stopping a very dangerous man... I just no longer think they are as.... 'angelic' as I first assumed.

I've only just read this and well, I do agree with your point on it. But isn't just Invisible Children Inc, who are attempting to stop this man. Trocaire is an Irish charity that has been supporting the children that this man has made into killers. Trocaire has been focusing on one family, the Okweng family. There is a young boy called Daniel, Daniel is 9 years old. His family and community has been attacked by LRA so many times that his father has been captured twice. [link] Trocaire may be pointed towards the Irish public, but it's more than that. It's a life saver. It may also be religious. But that doesn't matter. It's about the person willing to help. So Trocaire and Invisible children are both attempting to help families and communities. But they're also trying to stop Joseph Kony. I don't enjoy thinking about the fact that children my age are forced to kill their friends and families or the fact that they're forced to be sex slaves. I just want to see these to charities spread. They deserve more recognition for what they're doing for Uganda.

It's great to hear of other charities working towards similar goals! I checked out Torcaire's website, and saw they do a lot of various goodwill work in the third world.
They're a Christian organisation, which makes me hesitant on whether or not to give them my personal support (I generally don't like any charitable movement that has a religious agenda), but they seem to do some great work

Yep, it's something my school supports every year.
They may be Christian, but hey, I'm an Atheist and I still support em'. It doesn't matter whether people are religious or not. We still have our rights to support any Christian movement. Hence the fact why I'm worried to admit to my school that I am Atheist. My school has always been Christian and will probably not accept that fact.
But also, it's whoever's choice to support it or not.
