9 x 6 inches watercolor and inkThe bottom cat was inspired by my cat, Ziggy, he is big and fluffy. The second cat is just a friend over for some company. I painted it then added details with my felt-ink pen.
I think these 2 will appear in a future work.

Very cute concept, and so smoothly colored. I love the look of watercolor and even with lots of advice, books, and good quality supplies, can't get the hang of it yet. 
Anyway, I really like these pen and watercolor illustrations you've been uploading lately. Looking forward to more. Perhaps you should consider preparing a children's illustration portfolio soon? I'd say these are worthy of that.

I do have a rough portfolio, but I do want to increase its quality. Though I haven't figured out the next step, getting clients.

Oh, you never know where you'll get clients. I got my first big client, with whom I earned pretty good $$$ over a number of years, by answering her Craigslist ad! And my current client, rubber stamp company Motivet, found me here on dA!

I always had an idea of having my portfolio on flash cards, maybe I need to revisit that thought

I used to have one AGES ago. I wasn't even a professional then. Now, I could not make up my mind as to which ones to choose... And I certainly can't take everything with me... It's harder than it seems, though it's definitely a good idea.
What I used to do was print color copies of my digitally colored drawings, then laminate them, punch holes in them and put them all in a three ring folder. You could take that anywhere, and even if it rained, they would be alright!
