The sparkling lights emanating from the street lamps, the one in the foreground and the other just out of view, hinted at by the ivy, add an interesting counterpoint to the traditional Gothic background. The ivy, the points of light, the overall brightness of the scene (the light on the hair and skin of the figure suggests daylight), along with the hint of what could be snow on the church suggests an almost Christmas-like feel, which creates some beautiful tension when juxtaposed with the more Gothic elements. I really like this piece. You are an amazing artist.
