Probably one of the most recognisable wolves on DA, and I screwed it up. ._.

I think you can achieve a softer look merely by not emphasizing the interior structure of the wolve's body...it doesn't need to look like a mass of bone and muscle which while quite ferocious looking is not soft. Pastels are definitely an alternative but they lack detail it seems to me. Well my own ventures into pastel use are a bit more vague than Id like...Though the one Ace of Hearts thing I did with a mix of Prismacolor and Pastels worked ok to bring out details while softening the picture a bit. Still I think it is possible to draw a wolf that doesn't look like it has common ancestry with those creatures from Alien Vs Predator.

Lmao, thats true. But at the moment Im trying to nail anatomy, so Ive been drawing all the muscles. Then when Ive got that down, Ill work on covering the body with the apprpraite length of fur

yeah! For some reason, Kubo Tite relates butterflies to death, or messagers or something like that, it's weird and trippy.
