Definitely one of my favorites so far.

Nightkidlaura suggested your gallery, and I'm so glad she did. Very impressive work you have!

Ok, I just checked out the Facebook page and the site. Those are absolutely incredible pieces you've created! I'm even more jealous now

I'm actually interested in buying at least one of the things I saw. I just have to wait until pay day. It's not for me though. It's a gift for someone else who is just as geeky as I am.

This is the best painting of rocks and gentle waterfalls that I have seen on DeviantArt.

I have been trying myself for some time to get my rocks and water to look more realistic for a silk dye painting. This painting makes me realize that I need a lot more shadows on my rocks - especially on the underside. I also realize that silk is not the best medium to use, but after seeing your painting, I am determined to give it another try. I had done one silk painting after being inspired by a local artist, but it wasn't very good since my initial sketch that I drew wasn't very good. Since then I have off and on tried to make a sketch worthy of painting. I had already realized that too many of my rocks were stacked on top of each other, but I couldn't figure out how to give it the depth I wanted without that. Your painting just made me realize that I needed a pond area in the middle. This weekend the eraser is coming out and my sketch is going to improve a hundred fold! I think most of my sketch will be usuable, but I might have to start over to give the pond enough space. Thank you for some much need inspiration.

wow, glad to inspire someone else. let me know how that project went. I have a hard time doing rocks from memory, they just dont look natural. i find if i take lots of photos of nature it helps me make them look right. that might help u too.

I was able to get a much better sketch done, but I haven't finished it yet. Part of the problem is that I have realized that my gutta is now too old and I will have to buy some more. Thus my motivation is way down.

Instead my daughter and I have been going out every weekend and doing photo shoots - both for reference materials and as art in itself. Then we spend the rest of the week cropping and sorting through all the pictures. This seems to eat all of my free time. I'll let you know when I finally finish it.

Your rocks are so believable. You do well showing their texture. I like the sheen on the water and also the water movement.
