I've always had this theory that phoenix down only works with knocked out/unconscious characters, but not with actual "death". That's how in my mind I justify that they wouldn't revive Galuf, Tellah, Aerith or Zack

Makes sense, hopefully if they ever do finish the FF VII remake the'll add the part where Aerith is revivable or savable. 
On Soul Calibur VI someone had made a great Aerith that I had to save, also found a great Jecht and Auren from FF X.

I don't think they'll ever give us the option to revive Aerith, sadly. And I do think the remake is coming out I have faith in Square, plus, see, KH3 made it out to the light after 10+ years, so there's still hope, lol.

I never played Soul Calibur games. Was tempted to for the last one as they had Geralt of Rivia in the character rooster and I love him, hahahaha.

In the original files of FF VII there are conversation scenes with Aerith in the storyline after the Ancient City scene.

I've been a big fan of the series since the original Soul Edge/ Blade on PSX. 
I had created a couple more fun characters recently like Wendy from the Wendy's restaurant, She-Hulk, and Red She-Hulk.  
Also a decent one of X-2 Thief Rikku.
