Description
I originally made this species when I was about 8, and I found my old sketch of them and just had to start drawing them again. It all was inspired by the creatures we had in class.. We had blue tongued skinks and such in cases.. I loved Duncan/Hellyer's class. So that class was what got me interested in creatures; I was always reading books on reptiles and insects. Well, I was doodling random creatures from one of the books when I saw an AWESOME beetle, the Hercules beetle: [link]

So I drew it and added little pieces to my Egyptian character I had.. and eventually it grew into having full armor and that was the species. I added little things from species I liked. They have a little bit of scorpion (as you can see their shoulder-blades have spiked plating.) and their antennae turned out a bit like a swallowtail's, which is ok, it works. Their wings aren't based on anything 'real', I just made them a transparent insect-like pattern with a slight iridescent glow, which is just how they filter out light, not an actual bioluminescence. Their legs are hinged and jointed backwards, hard to describe other than looking at a horse's leg but with insect traits. I'll finish this and it'll be able to be seen.

NO this is NOT an open species. Sorry but these were my first original species and I'm attached to them. You can ask if you can make one; but I have to know you really well and be close friends. I've seen a lot of species theft recently; and I really don't want it to happen to me. You can draw them and give me credit for the species creation, but you have to give me credit and not make an OC of them without my permission.
