Health Update - May 2018Hello friends and followers of BBA,
I am so sorry for my long silence. I see so many kind and supportive messages left for me. I really hope I didn't worry anyone too badly. You are so sweet to care about my wellbeing and for that I thank you with my whole heart.
I have been struggling so very hard to keep my head above water. In such a state of fear and panic, my sole focus has been on survival. I have been unable to come on to DA to post an update, despite the important role that working on this project plays in my life.
As you may have surmised, my condition has drastically worsened since my last update. You may also recall in August 2017 I made a similar journal entry, putting the comic on hiatus while I tended to my severe health crisis. I have a very aggressive disease that I worked hard over the past 2 years to get into a "remission"-like state, so that I could function normally.
All in all, 2018 was a good year. Especially starting in May of 2018, I really star

No, she is still alive as far as I know. If you check her Facebook, there was a post on June 13th. You can send an email to her (though only about things you want to buy), as said by Axel. She is simply trying to recover. They would tell us if anything happened

Don't say things like that. The last thing we need is to spread rumors and get people even more worried. God forbid but if something did happen to where Kay couldn't continue the comic anymore I'm pretty sure somebody would post on her behalf and give us an update. If you recall in the journal she posted Kay got sick like this about 2 years ago and it took her a few months to recover. I'm sure she's just resting and focusing on her health right now and she will update us when she's ready

Lol tbh, I'm not here as often. Once in a while, I might check to see if Kay has posted anything, as well as read comments but that's it. Besides, I think if something THAT serious were to have happened to her I'm sure somebody would post on her behalf. Kay doesn't seem like the person to leave her fans in the dark. So unless I see a journal stating that she's passed away I'm just going to assume she is still recovering. Besides, like I said whatever she has takes a few months to recover, so it might be a while before we see another page unless shes slowly starting to see improvement on her health. Just have faith in her

at first, when I took notice, and I'm being extremely honest here, I thought it was a tiny illness, and also to an extent, some disorganization on kay's part. you know, we're all human, and make mistakes, but as time went on, to me, it felt irresponsible and inexcusable at this point. take care of your fans as much as your money. with a comic like that, it's essentially a business and deadlines are essential to meet (I work for a company, so I know exactly what I'm talking about). your fans are your clients and creating is part of your contract you could say. I felt it was just excuses at this point, and I honestly was starting to give up on the comic, especially since you don't know what goes on on the other side of the screen and how long it took. I'm becoming a writer, myself, and I believe that many of the best fans are the ones who push her in some way to get her out of these slumps, even if it's harsh words. I say that with passion, as kay's basically a sister in arms, as a literary content creator.
I mean, even though a medical record would show a lot of evidence for this...that would also be a breach of privacy, to some extent. sometimes, evidence isn't going to be shown, sometimes. however, now that I've seen some of the comments, and judging from kay's letter, it really does sound like something concerning might going on with her. someone who just leaves your fans in the dark...wouldn't make as elaborate of a letter as that, especially with caring words like that. if it wasn't, you can really tell by the words and how they are said. I mean, it's still good to be skeptical, and it could be just a grand excuse for all we know, and many people try to get attention in many ways...though judging from the nature of the letter and the comments, it definitely sounds like something bad is going on, and people don't just try to get attention with a letter like that. it sounds like a need for support there in it's own genuine way. so, I'll go out on a limb, and show empathy and say that she's incredibly terminally ill and it's an incredibly hard thing beyond her control. I mean, even though I stand by my truthful and realistic statement on caring for your fans and never ever leaving them in the dust, (as they made you who you are, basically) it doesn't mean one shouldn't show empathy if something is indeed going on. if that's the case...then, to balance out both of the statements, truth and empathy on a positive note...everyone's waiting for her, and I do hope sincerely she gets better. the end.

I wouldn't go so far as to say she's terminally ill, but rather chronically ill. Judging by a comment from a user on her latest journal it kinda gives away what the illness might very well be. With chronic illnesses, the person will sometimes get flare ups and they can last for months. I do wish we knew for sure what it was she has so that maybe we could all understand better what she's dealing with, but that's up to her.
I think we all need to be patient with Kay and believe that this will pass soon and she'll be back on her feet again

very well. we should do that, then. even if you're super skeptical, it's not like we have much choice BUT to take her word, anyway, judging from the limited info we have to go on. but, yes. patience and positive thinking is key. and, I know exactly how that feels, to be fair. many people are expecting me to complete my story (called Twilight Sun), since I've announced it many times in real life for the hype. and, a story is VERY hard to write. more than you think. you have scenes, character personalities, your muse mood swings, your perfectionist and inferior feeling fears...the works. you go through many things in the process. it has its easy moments and hard moments. so, in that regard, I also can't blame kay for that, and, knowing the struggles, it would be unfair to be uneasy on her in that regard. we're both climbing the same mountain. I'd be expecting support and patience, too, in her shoes, thinking about it now.
but thanks for being patient with my comment, and being open-minded, guys. you guys are great fans, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. she deserves you guys and we all wish dearly for her to finish. still, survival is important, and the comic won't digitally create itself, considering there's still a living human being behind the screen. we'll be looking forward to it, either way, and her comic is a huge inspiration for many of us, myself included. let's look forward to the comic being done, and when Twilight Sun's done, look forward to that, too, equally. you deserve good content, and we deserve great fans as yourselves, likewise!
