LOL I think the true deffinition of a weed is a plant that takes over an area where it is not natural and brings nothing to the environment... I didn't personally call lotus 'weeds' just quoted some "others" And in some places the lotus do choke out native plants and deffinitely clog river paths...

We really want to get rid of all the thistles...they are such weeds and spread so easily! One plant can cover a whole hillside with babies next year but they do briefly have kind of pretty flowers and are interesting dried...but they are way toooooo useless! I'd rather have poison oak in spots - at least the deer eat it!

I was surprised too! We're being told to get or rent some goats to clear the oak, but I kind of like watching the deer nibble

I guess there's quite a business in weed abatement goat clearance - the City of Los Angeles rents them to clear along the freeways

thanks! It was cooler yesterday evening than it has been for a while so I went for a walk at sunset - that color of light sure doesn't last long!
