It is a beautiful valley we really need to go sometime when we've got more than just a few hours maybe this spring (I'm too much of a weather wimp to brave it in full winter )

Well at least you know yourself. I think it definitely deserves another trip and spring sounds great. The colors on new vegetation are always so different and you might be lucky enough to catch wild flowers blooming.

The biggest problem is I don't know how to drive in the snow

The valley walls with wildflowers in the foreground would be awesome!! And I've seen marvelous photos of dogwood flowers with a waterfall in the back

I completely understand. I thought I knew how to drive in the snow until we came to California and our "mountains" looked like ant hills compared to what you have. The driving was very different.

LOL - yea, the western mountain ranges are so much newer than the east coast mountains Caitlin has a friend in North Carolina who practically swoons with fright when he sees her shots of some of the roads we take and our Sierra's are nothing compared to the Rockies!!

I pretty much felt like that too. And I was doubly scared of driving on them after stopping at a scenic lookout and rather than looking out I looked down and saw a pickup truck very far down hung up on a tree. Not the kind of Christmas ornament I wanted to see!

eek! I'm not scared of the drive in wet or dry conditions having grown up with them, but I've never had to learn to drive in snow so......

Had to laugh at your "pickup truck ornament" comment even though I know what you mean
