Description Arches within the Civil War era Point Fort at the entrance to the San Francisco bay...we were lucky to be there on a sunny day but the green moss shows how often it is surrounded by fog!

I think these shots are quite hard to do well, and you've managed beautifully.

I put this one through a program that helps with the contrasts so there wasn't too much "skill" involved but I did tone down the hdr effect to make it more natural...it was such a fun building to wander in, our only complaint was from my daughter - we'd walked so much the night before that she had blisters and while her spirit was willing to investigate every little corner of this Fort her feet had her hobbling...poor thing...

Ah, yes, photography also takes endurance!

Is that a shadow down the center on the ground. What a great photo!

we don't know what it was - for sure not a shadow...there are holes like some curved part was bolted to the floor. In a couple other areas there are replica cannon set up so it might have been the swivel for the gun to move upon to shoot out the windows at different angles It was a really interesting building

it was such an interesting place! we've seen it hunkered down under the bridge but had no idea of what it really was we both were glad we'd made the effort to figure out how to get there
